PACs, 501(c)3s, and partisanship

Vote Today Ohio is a Political Action Committee (PAC), regulated by the Federal Election Commission. That requires us to make the following declaration on all our materials: "not authorized by any candidate or candidate's committee." In plain English, that means we can't share resources, information or strategy with any candidate or political party -- even if we are working towards the same political goal. And so we don't.

We can, however, coordinate with other PACs, 527s, and 501(c)4 and 501(c)3 organizations to achieve our objective of helping to bring voters to the polls. In some cases, that means functioning in a non-partisan manner, simply offering any voter assistance to the polls.

We welcome - and are within our right to pursue - collaboration with initiatives interested in enhancing democracy by encouraging more Ohioans to vote ... especially those all too often failed by the democratic process and system.
